Parent Trap Anyone?

We last left off with my dramatic post about ear piercings. So lets continue on with that in mind.

Determined to get freshly punched holes in my ears before I came to my senses and change my mind I forged on to the mall. It's a pretty mall and I had other errands to do there anyways so it's not like it took lots of dragging or whining to get me there. As I walked down the sidewalk looking in the store windows I see Claire's in the distance. I know they do piercings yet as I walk closer visions of teenage shop workers dance in my head, there is no way I'm letting a 16 year old get anywhere near my ears with a piercing gun!

I would like to have the new holes punched over the light left over indentation of the old holes and it would be great if there were an adult nearby to do that. As I approach Claire's I see their piercing station is conveniently set up right outside their door practically calling my name, so I walk up and start looking at the earrings they have to offer. I nonchalantly glance over at the cash register to see a guy about my age behind the counter with earrings of his own and I find a bit more comfort in my decision to come. I mosey over to the counter (yes I said mosey I'm like 80 years old I know) and ask the guy if he's doing piercings now and he says sure. He asks which earrings I want and we walk over to the piercing counter where I'm given the 'paperwork' necessary to get my ears pierced. After signing my life away on multiple forms I sit and wait for him as he sterilizes himself with a prudence I doubt most surgeons use before cutting people open.

He swabs my earlobes with rubbing alcohol and points out where the new holes will be (right over the old holes even though they weren't totally even) and the moment of truth is upon us...

I prepare myself... it's been a while but I'm sure its going to hurt. Some random guys walks up and decides it will be fun to watch me mutilate my body and then THE PINCH!! Wait was that it? I hardly felt anything? I was half tempted to grab my ear and ensure he actually pierced it but I didn't want him to think I was nuts so I just waited as he moved to the other ear. Hey look done. That was easy. I think getting my eyebrows waxed the week before had hurt more. Yay new holes in my head!!! Now I just get to clean them 3 times a day for 6 weeks and I can start wearing pretty earrings. I vow to myself here and now that I WILL keep these holes open and earring wearable till October!

I know you all just love these random pictures of my ears. (Personal Photo)

One more thing to check off the pre-wedding to do list. Anyone else find a major sense of relief when a task they sort of dreaded doing turned out to be total cake?
